DIY dream-pop artist Nijuu has returned to her home in South Korea after spending time in London, where she recorded her upcoming, self-produced EP nijuu in the sea, alongside 3 bandmates. Digging deeper, the EP is formed of 7 tracks which form 'chapters' of a fairytale she has written about living in the sea. Today she reveals EP opener 'Blue' - a spacious track with an ethereal, silk-like quality. Reverb-drenched drums boom, whilst electric piano creates melodies that trickle like rain water on the outside of the windowpane. Fogging up the window with a misty quality are Nijuu's vocals, melodically woven between the bass runs and slides. Towards the end, the track energetically wakes from its deep, misty state and Nijuu's vocals become more present than ever, as if awoken and revitalised, repeating the words "blue, my dream". Nijuu says “The sea is my world. It’s both my consolation and my limitation. Since I was fourteen, I’ve been thinking the entire world is the sea. I imagined I might be a fish but I live on the ground. Or I might be a person and everyone else is a sea creature. The water always made me feel free. But it has another meaning to me. We were in the water in our mum’s womb, but after we’re born, we can’t breathe underwater.” -Ellie Rose-Davies
